Kinokuniya was first open at Liang Court in 1983. At that time,
Kinokuniya was commonly regarded as a Japanese bookstore for the
Japanese community residing in Singapore. However, things have changed
and Kinokuniya is now also a popular bookstore for Singaporeans.
They sell over 500,000 popular international titles from all over the world, including English, Japanese, Chinese, French and German publications. Books are sold at reasonable prices and customers can expect to receive excellent service from the staff there. There are also multi-cultural events, such as ikebana, comic art demonstrations, language learning workshops, book launches, etc being held in the book store occasionally.
